The cars explode!?!?! I am writing this as I play Chromehounds on XboxLive for the first time. It is a horrifying experience. It’s like a dog show or something everyone is looking at all your gear and stats and commenting on it right in front of you. It is extremely disheartening to hear people question basic parts on your mech. Although it was my first match I seemed to be a higher rank then my other squadmates which made my heart sink everytime they yelled “let’s do this shit” since most likely they suck. They did. They just killed eachother, and expressed amazement when I was still alive and actually almost finished destroying the opponent’s base. However I was no match for the base and the three remaining defenders. Crap I can’t believe I forgot to equip those spiky things. Woooooh equipped them and totally won the match. One of the guys is complaining about some rocket guy on the other team that killed him in one hit. The truth is that I killed him because he stopped on top of the bombs I had thrown. I did not want to tell him this and try very hard not to burst out laughing as he continued to complain about what had happened and how he had so much armor and the other guy was so cheap. Well we seem to have finally gotten some momentum going and are dare I say it... unstoppable. Also I just got a lecture on how artillery works, something that I already have a firm grasp on thanks to a mixture of movies, games and physics class. Wow is that guy arrogant, having a rank in this game is probably the most worthless thing in the world and he's throwing it around like he' God or something. Anyway I really should be studying right now because I have a final tomorrow and some more studying would definitely help. Ah well I suppose it can't be helped, maybe more studying will get done tomorrow before the exam. I certainly hope so. Actually the grade won't transfer so I suppose as long as I pass it doesn't really matter how well I do on the exam. Probably not the mindset I should have, so I will try to keep those thoughts at bay and focus on giving the exam a serious try. Lets' see is there anything else I want to say given that this is my first post in I think around 2 years? Yes, but those are stories and things for a future post and one that hopefully won't have as long a hiatus as this one has. One last thing though my thoughts are of you 'Lady'. Problem Solved
Well to tell the truth I had made up my mind on the correct course of action to take, although there wasn't much choice and all options carried some risk or negative effect. However it appears that I was saved from having to take any action by an unexpected stroke of luck and am now quite content with my situation that is free of conflict for now at least. Anyway I figureded I might as well post it here but I created a myspace with the sole intent of not updating or posting stuff, but I have a funny picture up (note that is not me as much as you may think that it is it is not) anyway here is the link www.myspace.com/kipstopher so there. | | Saturday, August 20th, 2005 | | 1:10 am |
It Isn't Enough To Tell Us What A Man Did, You've Got To Tell Us Who He Was.
Well my Tau army has finally been painted (with a lot of help from my brother) and tomorrow... errr later today :) I get to take them into battle and see how many stupid mistakes I can make (or pray that the Broadside makes a lot of hits with its twin-linked railguns). I plan to play my DS between turns, provided everyone doesn't get pissed off at me for it, but I guess I'll just have to play it by ear. Tuesday brings the release of Advance Wars: Dual Strike and I can honestly say that I cannot wait for Tuesday to come. Everything I've heard points to it being absolutely fantastic and there are plenty of new features so I'll have some new things to toy around with unlike in AW2. However on Monday Nintendogs comes out, and although I am somewhat doubtful about the depth and replay value (besides I like cats better anyway) so far I haven't seen scores below a 9 and well Famitsu gave it a rare perfect 40 out of 40 (4 reviewers giving it 10/10 each), so I may have to pick it up at some point. Otherwise I'm saving my money for Castlevania (guaranteed to be great cuz it's a 2d Castlevania game), Metroid Prime Hunters (demo was fun), Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (looks to be very funny, and the animation is good), and Trauma Center: Under the Knife (doctor game if you couldn't tell that uses the stylus to stitch up wounds and remove glass and bullets and stuff). Hmmm I was thinking of discussing Jack Thompson, but I've decided that is best saved for another post besides I need to get back to those reviews anyway (they're coming Billy just wait a little longer), but to end this post I need something that will take up a lot of space... what could I possibly use?...I know quizzes! ~*~Result nr 8~*~ Your power is: Extreme healing powers Explanation: When injured your body focuses on the wound and heals rapidly, within a few seconds. This makes you pretty much hard to kill and you can help people in danger using yourself as a shield. Almost anything is possible in combat but you prefer looking after others. In bad purposes you can do the same as above but for evil intentions. This power fits you pretty good since you want to help those around you, and when you are pretty much unstopable, that's not an obsticle. You are caring and nurturing and are more a pascifist. Even if you could be seen as pure, you are not that completely since you're human and make mistakes too.
Negative aspects: If your naiveness has been making you blind for too long you could go into dark thinking. What Power is Compatible With You? Autobots Transform And Roll Out!
Well I finally got my permit today, took me long enough didn't it. I suppose now it means I have to start learning to drive a real car and stop playing all of that Burnout 3, oh well. Anyway I also recently acquired 3 new games. Phantom Brave is fun, but it has a kind of clunky battle system with the turn limits for characters. Makai Kingdom though takes everything good that Phantom Brave offered and fixed every problem I had making Makai Kingdom a very good game. Finally I picked up the PS2 remake of one of my favorite N64 games Winback. So far everything has played out exactly the same and the only changes I can tell are the graphics and one of Jean-Luc's lines in the beginning. Hmmmm what else... right I got back my ACT scores and they stayed exactly the same which is good, and I also got back my AP Bio scores which I got a 5 in (US History hasn't come in yet so I'll have to wait a little bit). Thing I need to do: Read: Taiko (I swear I'm going to finish it this time), Silent Springs, whatever that other Enviro book is, and Metal Gear Solid comics. Watch: Nothing. Play: Makai Kingdom, Phantom Brave, Winback, and maybe some Front Mission 4. Paint: Broadside Battlesuit, and Firewarriors (so that I can finally use my Tau army) Current Mood: blankCurrent Music: Float On - Modest Mouse | | Monday, July 18th, 2005 | | 1:50 am |
I was actually going to have a real post, but some really crappy things happened in the later half of what I suppose is now yesterday and into this morning so now all I want to do is get some sleep seeing as how I am finally back home. I'll post later when I've had some sleep and finished reading the damn mail that's been piling up around me. Current Mood: I fucking hate the Yankees | | Thursday, June 9th, 2005 | | 10:40 pm |

Been a while since I last updated I guess, and last time wasn't much of an update was it? Oh well can't be helped I suppose. So let's see what has happened since I last posted. Aaahhhh APs, finals, and SOLs ("shit out of luck" is the real meaning or so I've been told). Only a couple more finals and then I'm done although bio has been done for a week or so now. Bio class consists of me playing gunstar heroes/street fighter/watching a dvd I brought. Pretty good class huh? Oh and prom happened too. Heard it was kind of crappy, but luckily I went to the prom before and after parties and had a great time hanging out with everyone (well most everyone). Now on to Rahxephon since I just finished the series. Buy it or borrow it from me either way you have to see it, it is too damn good to miss out on. The director and development team is top notch and the sound and animation are just beautiful. If you saw gasaraki you will note some similarities or if you saw evangelion (a lot of reviews say Rah is a clone of Eva, but just on the surface if anything Rah has its own confounding storyline). Hmmmm I think I'll just write a review of it later (hear that Billy I'm actually going to write those reviews you asked me for a year ago). Last thing then is that Cal helped me track down Aria of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance so soon I will be back to exploring castles and schooling some vamps with the Belmont whip. Wo der Pfeffer wächst
Well I told Bills that I would update earlier, but I never got around to it. I have a lot to say though since it's after spring break. Sadly London was pretty boring and I spent my entire time trying to figure out how I was going to get all my HW done on time. However I did get to go to some arcades while I was there. In one there was this kid playing tekken 5 with onehanded while drinking a coke, but he was pretty bad only knew 2 combos. The other arcade I watched this guy play some street fighter third strike. I instantly challenged him after I saw him repeatedly ducking and punching. You see this means that he is trying to pull off Ryu's signature move the hadouken, but can't get the timing down. I don't have the timing down either with the arcade stick so we were an even match until I got the timing down then I wrecked him. A store just outside the arcade though had by far the best thing I saw in London though. Alright I'll give you some clues first see if you can guess. It was a Statue of a man with an eye patch. If you guessed captain Hook you are wrong, the correct answer is Big Boss. Yeah so then I got back and turned in all of my assignments and then school happened and now I am to this weekend. Thursday there was a LAN after school at Billy's house and like all LANs was great and thre was plenty of fighting and yelling. I also got to level 33 in WoW and am trying to keep one step ahead of Imamoron because I hate him so much. Also I need to get a mic so I can join the teamspeak server that was set up. Friday night I went to the opera The Magic Flute by Mozart and it was fantastic. Well the first act was anyway, the second act kind of dragged on a bit. Then Saturday got an 8 on the coolness meter. It was a beautiful day out so driving around in a convertible with the top down is pretty good. Then I got to go see the National's game and on the way back took the wrong metro line and wasted a good 20 minutes of my life. Then when I got home around 11 I decided it was the perfet time to watch The Last Crusade. Now Indiana Jones is the coolest person ever. He got into a fist fight with a Nazi on top a moving tank in a desert. I mean that's just awesome. Then this morning I realized I still neede to get farther in Jade Empire, Baten Kaitos, and Gran Turismo 4, so I booted up all three systems and started playing them at the same time. Then I watched Ocean's Twelve which although good wasn't better then the first. Now for the song below it is by the Wiseguys. It is a really funny song about a breakup. the last line of the stanza says "I harbor no resentment... but:" and then it goes on to say how he wishes she was where the yeti lives, where the witches hex , or in the ass of the world. if you want to hear some of it go to http://www.wiseguys.de . Was hast du dir dabei gedacht? May The Lord Smile, And The Devil Have Mercy
Well I leave for London in the morning and it's going to be a crappy flight. 6 hours without moving can only be bad, and the additional homework won't make anything better. Apparently the arcade I was looking forward to is still there, but is no longer Sega Tower or even Sega World but instead it is called Funland. Sega, how the mighty have fallen. I have two goals on this trip, one is to get a hat either a bowler or a top hat, and the other is to not totally hate this trip. Number one should be easy, the other should be hard. Anyway on my other days of Spring Break I was able to beat Z.O.E. 2: The Second Runner (w00t Jehuty pwned Anubis and Nohman), and Wind Waker (I can't believe the ending, right through the fucking head I mean that elevated really quickly). I plan to neat Link to the Past and tactics ogre on the trip, and maybe even level up my FFTA characters so that I have an unbeatable team for when I face the owner of the twin dark copy if I ever do face them. This time I'll remember to use a working link cable too. Hmmm I had some other stuff to say, but I'm going to be gone and I kind of would need to be here so as to back up my actions so I'll hold off on that. Oh does anyone know if they have some cool gundam stuff over in London or some good games for DS, dammit John will probably find some since he gets to go to Japan for his break, he might even get a free PSP. Ohh almost forgot got johnny Donkey Konga for his B-day, probably one of the greatest party games ever. I mean it is the only game I know of where it is possible to have four guys in a room playing Bongos and singing along to the Pokemon tv theme after a stunning rendition of We Will Rock You and a bossa nova remix of The Legend of Zelda theme. A Postmodern Devil, Thou Art
The following post never got through last time I sent it so here it is now: Well in two weeks I'm off to London, and I expect it to be very boring except for Sega Tower. 3 story arcade sounds pretty bitchin' to me, but I have to practice a little on Calvin's arcade stick (with his permission) so that I can hold my own when I start playing against some brits. Let's see I wanted to mention some old games I was playing recently and then get into some more controversial issues so let's start. I was recently playing The Bouncer and older PS2 square game, and was struck by the fact that it basically is what at least I found to be a much better Kingdom Hearts. Many of the menu systems are the same along with a trinity rush option. But besides that there is the main hero Sion Barzahd. Sion looks like a grown up Sora, the clothes match almost perfectly, same types of chains, really the only difference is that Sion doesn't have hair that is as long. In a fight though I'm sure the Bouncer team would win, basically all of the Kingdom Hearts team couldn't take down Volt, he would snap Donald and Goofy in half. Anyway I recently played the only game where you try to save the president from alien genetically altered human clones (hybrids) by body slamming inside out horses and other strange creatures. Oh you also killed yourself in a subway in front of your girlfriend at the beginning. What is this crazy game you ask? Why Hybrid Heaven of course. Yeah I know I made it sound crazy and stupid, but I assure you it is a very serious game with some very good script writing and by far some of the best graphics on the N64. It has an interesting fighting engine though which deserved mentioning. All fights are one on one even though it is a third person game, you then move in real time until you wish to attack in which case you hit the A button and then a series of menus pop up which you scroll through until you find the move you want to perform. Now if you grappled him then you get a list of throws (the body slam mentioned above), or if you built up enough stamina before you attacked maybe a combo they suggest, or one you put together yourself (a left right kick followed by a hook and then an uppercut is highly recommended). When the battle is over you "level up" your stats go up, but also if you used your left leg a bit more you might strengthen that, or if your right arm got pummeled it might become more resistant to physical attacks, and you might even learn some new attacks if your opponent performed them on you (it kind of sucks trying to learn some moves because you have to be hit by them first so make sure you have enough health). Now I have tried to stay away form this issue because I personally have some strong opinions on it but some recent articles have caused me to at least mention it, violence in video games and the impressions it can have on individuals. CBS news http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/02/24/tech/gamecore/main676446.shtml started the interviews and the first one was with a lawyer who is strongly opposed to video games to say the least. However the next interview was with Tim Buckley writer of Ctrl+Alt+Del one of my favorite comics so I was quite interested in what he had to say. I have to say that I agree with Mr. Buckley on everything he said, but I plan to continue to read the interviews because some other favorite groups of mine will be responding over the next couple of weeks (vgcats and Bungie (makers of Halo, Oni, and Myth, can you even have parentheses inside of parentheses? oh well I did it anyway) to name a few. Oh one last thing Killer 7 has been delayed so I f you were looking forward to it as much as I was you can go ahead and be angry at Capcom (they even announced it for PS2 the bastards!). How You'd Never Realise
Well Billy you're right I did say I was going to post if we had a snowday on monday, but you see when I got home I realized that I had to do my physics so I decided not to fail physics or post about my wonderful snowday. I played Tekken 5 in case you wanted to know, and then some WoW. However there are more important things to mention here and now. First I've been meaning to put up some links to some sites I recommend so here they are. www.xerjester.com has what is probably on of the greatest sotries I have ever read, the only problem is that he colors everything beautifully so sometimes it can be awhile between updates. http://www.hawaiianalgebra.virtue.nu/index.html is of course the Hawaiian Algebra club website which has some stuff on it I'm sure so go look at it. http://www.joncaido.com/aumaan/main.php is THE place to go for Kojima related stuff. Music, movies, pics from everything form Boktai to Z.O.E. to Metal Gear Solid for download. And then there is http://library.psyjnir.net/ which I discovered earlier today if there is anything you need to know about Halo it is there if it comes from other sites, the books, or the games it is there. http://www.billymonks.com/ it's billy's site go there and watch some funny flash movies or at the very least listen to his songs. Anyway in other news I am quite distressed, because for once I have quite a lot to say, but I am not even being given the chance to speak. I guess I was expecting too much, but it's still disappointing. Yeah I need to go answer those history questions now so I'll be going. In Places I Can't See
Well schools had a terrible lapse in judgment and decided to give us thursday and friday off for snow that never really fell. This allowed me to get in a good amount of time on WoW though and I am currently holding at level 19 very close to breaking my curse of never getting to 20 in an MMO game. Uhhh there was probably a LAN too where we were somewhere and did something, I dunno it's kinda hazy. Oh I do remember going sledding with mike and having a big snowball fight where my sled became a shield and I used it to charge. Then we watched Loaded Weapon 1. Then on saturday it basically sucked until about 4 or so. Calvin and I spent the day trying to track down a copy of Gran Turismo 4 (can't get enough of that model T) or Tekken 5. All stores were either out of it or didn't have it. SO we got Mario Party 6 instead and I got my ass royally kicked by JB in it. This should never happen, I on;y recall ever losing to JB once when we were playing Soul Calibur 2 and he decided to have infinite health. I won 2 out of those 5 matches though. Anyway Billy had a LAN after that and so Calvin and I went to that, but stopped at EB to trade in some old games to see if we could get a copy of GT4 or Tekken 5, and to make up for the crappiness we had experienced so far we were able to get $52.50 for games such as Bionicle, sly cooper, and enter the matrix (games which are embarrassing to even mention). The guy behind the counter showed us his imported PSP which did have some good graphical abilities, and he told us that kids have been trading in their DSs to reserve a PSP which made me cry on the inside. Anyway we got Tekken 5 which is amazing and so far proven much too hard for me even on easy. Johnny brought GT4 over and I lost half the time which is good because at realistic racers I suck. The we decided we needed to record some of Jeff's actions and I found a video camera lying on a table so I shot a 3 minute movie of Jeff being funny (especially his perfect impersonation of the merchant from Resident Evil 4)and the Matt trying to throw a large metal object at the camera or me I don't really know. Today brought the hope of more snow days because it is supposed to snow tomorrow again, but I still did my homework except for my essay which I should probably go start now so it will be done by tomorrow so I don't fail history. Oh god it's a DBQ I hate DBQs they are my most hated type of history essay, man the prompt sucks too. Yeah I'll post tomorrow if we have a snowday. Today, Past, Present, and Future
Well I haven't updated in awhile and Billy kindly asked me to so here is an update. For the 1 possibly 2 of you who read this almost as sporadically as I update there are numerous tales I have to tell. Since my last real post I have become less cynical and more detached from events emotionally. Somehow I got a B+ in German this quarter. Sadly my Dad plans to take me to Germany next year and I am supposed to act as a translator. I know how to say "My name is..." in german and that is about it. Basically I'm screwed. On a brighter note I got World of Warcraft and I pwn at it except when I dueled Billy in which case I got my ass handed to me. Uhh what else oh today is valentine's day, and it actually didn't go as bad as I thought it would. Save for one thing. Yes you guessed it the one thing that strikes fear deep into a person's heart a singing valentine. It was every bit as embarrassing as I had imagined, and it is from an almost anonymous source so there. Now I plan to post this and go play some games or something. Here, have poll on my behalf. Apology
I am publicly apologizing to charlie for attacking him with a roll of paper towels because in the end he was right even though he was trying to be a jackass. Now it's not only that he was right it's that he was right within the range of a single letter which was added on to the end of a name which is impressive. Sadly I never see him anymore so he will never know how right he was, which actually is a good thing because it would only encourage him. Appreciation
I was sick today so that's why I wasn't in school, and apparently there was a Bio test today which I now have to retake. Although what concerns me more is not making it to physics today because we tested our towers so I had to leave that all up to John I hope everything went alright. Anyway I have a new found appreciation for both Phantom Crash, Winback, and Gasaraki. All three had a quote which all of a sudden makes so much sense to me that it is scary, and on the plus side I got an 80 gb maxtor HD so I can now get Winback on the PS2. Oh right one last thing I may have a PS2, but I don't like Sony. They are evil, basically pure evil and well they're like the suck. Well the Bio meeting today was complete bullshit, no one else showed and absolutely no work got accomplished so all it did was waste my time, and now I'm scrambling to finish my HW. Don't tell me that I should have been working on my HW instead of taking the following quizzes because the HW is the suck, and I had to practice my micro. You are a brave Tau Fire Warrior. Fight for the Greater Good! And name your tanks after fish. Real original, there. Which Warhammer 40,000 Race are you brought to you by Quizilla You're Nathan Graves! Sure you're no Belmont but you still managed to stop Dracula with your whip and magical cards; much like a certain anime character named Sakura. You have a unique sense of fashion , but when it comes to women you mange only to end up with the evil ones. Then again aren't most women? Time to Reflect
Well this will be the first annual Best of Last Year Award Show. I've decided that I'll list the top 5-10 movies and games and maybe a book or something too i'll see what I can come up with. Games: 1. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It's just amazing in every way the music is great, the level design is great, just all around solid. 2. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This game is a close second mainly because I suck at it and that causes it to become frustrating. 3. Katamari Damacy. Best Music ever and innovative gameplay, only problem is that it's a little short, and there is NO FREE ROAM MODE!!! 4. Halo 2. We all knew it was going to be here, too bad it had the second ugliest cutscenes (Ugliest is Armed and Dangerous). 5. Ninja Gaiden. Look it has great graphics, a Fucking kick ass ninja and the hardest difficulty of any game I've ever played. 6. Feel the Magic. It's magic what more do you want? 7. Half-Life 2. It's on the list because I'll be killed if it's not. Movies: 1. Collateral. Great acting, Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx are perfect for their roles in the movie. 2. Spiderman 2. It had Spiderman, and it didn't suck like the Batman movies. 3. Shaun of the Dead. One of the funniest movies I have ever seen, and it had timesplitters. 4. Bourne Supremacy. Sequel to a good action/mystery movie and more or less is as good as the original, except for that damn camera. 36. Hero. Good camera angles and use of color, but a story that was quite lacking in just about every way. Books: 1. America (The Book) by Jon Stewart. Funny even if almost completely made up. Underrated Things of the Year: Patlabor, Escaflowne, Gasaraki, Dai-Guard (for the love of god people it's a good show why aren't you watching it?), and the Halo book series (The first and third ones are amazing, but you can skip the second if you played Halo). Yeah none of the things in the underrated category were actually from this year, but they're still too underrated and need the support. To end this post a quiz: You're Asuma Shinohara, a member of Tokyo Police's Special Vehicles Section 2, the driver of the command car for Ingram Unit One! Asuma is a lot more rational than his partner Noa, although he sometimes can come into conflict with superiors due to his inquisitive nature. He is actually the son of the president of Shinohara Heavy Industries, one of the world's leading manufacturers of Labors (and also the company that gave the police the experimental Ingram units), however his relationship with his father can be considered strained at best. This is the reason why he became a police officer in the first place, and as a result he doesn't like talking about his heritage...although his knowledge of Labors (particularly Shinohara ones) can prove invaluable to the team at times. As the series goes on, it seems as if he might have developed some feelings for Noa. :) What Character From the Anime/Manga 'Patlabor' Are You? brought to you by Quizilla | | Friday, December 24th, 2004 | | 7:01 pm |
